On the evening of July 1, the Reignwood Summer Concert “When East Meets West” 2025 took place at the foot of the Great Wall of China. Top Chinese pianist Liu Shikun played the epic “Ode to the Yellow River” on a legendary Pearl River Sabao grand piano.
The world-famous tenor Plácido Domingo conducted the Central Ballet Symphony Orchestra and sang classics such as “The Country of Smiles”. Together with Liu Shikun, he interpreted the peace song “The Sky of Peace” – a musical message for peace and cultural awareness.
The concert also featured symphonic works, traditional Beijing operas and the Hanggai orchestral pieces “Rising Sun” and “Night in Ulaanbaatar”. The presenter Dashan presented the Chinese cultural heritage with a symphonic recitation.
